Beacon Roofing Supply Buys Building Products Business

Roofing Supply has acquired Lyf-Tym Building Products, a distributor of siding, windows, gutters, vinyl railings and related products based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Lyf-Tym also fabricates gutters and aluminum-reinforced vinyl railings systems at its fabrication facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. The company, which was founded in 1966, has six branches, with two locations in Charlotte and branches in Hickory, Monroe, and Greensboro, North Carolina as well as Roanoke, Virginia.

Lyf-Tym co-owner Curt Corder, who will remain with the company, said: "joining the Beacon team presents a tremendous opportunity for our families and Lyf-Tym’s loyal customers and employees. Beacon’s strong market presence in the Carolinas and Southern Virginia will enable us to better serve our customers with broader product offerings and even more efficient deliveries. We chose to align with Beacon because Beacon shares our values and our belief that success comes from hard work and great customer service. I am very excited about our future at Beacon."

Paul Isabella, Beacon’s CEO and president, emphasized the strategic fit of the acquisition and the compatibility of the two companies. He said: "Lyf-Tym will be a great addition to Beacon’s South Division. Over the last 50 years, Lyf-Tym has built a strong reputation as a high quality supplier of siding, windows, gutters and railings that will greatly complement our existing business in the Carolinas and Southern Virginia where there is strong demand for complementary products. Lyf-Tym is a fantastic strategic acquisition for Beacon.”

Beacon Roofing Supply, which was founded in 1928, distributes residential and commercial roofing materials and complementary building products. It operates 365 branches across 45 states in the U.S. and six provinces in Canada.
