British Sealant and Adhesives Firm Enters US Market

Bond It, a UK-based manufacturer of sealants, adhesives and building chemicals, has created a new business in the US.

The company’s head offices and production facilities are in the English county of West Yorkshire. Bond It’s new US business, Seal It Services is based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and will be used to open up increased export opportunities for its range.

Specific products offered by Seal It Services will include a self-fusing silicone rubber tape that was originally developed for the US military. ER Tape can be used to carry out fixes and repairs across an variety of plumbing, electrical, automotive and marine applications.

As part of the formation of Seal It Services Inc, Bond It purchased the ER Tape brand and associated production plant from previous manufacturer, Rowe Industries for $3.25m. In 2015, ER Tape had sales of $1.73m and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of $994,000.

Seal It Services offers a number of other existing Bond It products including the manufacturer’s sealants and adhesives.

Bond It managing director David Moore said: “Bond It has been looking to develop its presence in North America for some time as part of ambitious plans for further global expansion. The formation of Seal It Services Inc will play an important part in achieving this goal.”
