LafargeHolcim buys Texan ready-mix business

LafargeHolcim has bought a ready-mix concrete company that operates in the Dallas/Fort Worth area in Texas.

The acquisition of Tarrant Concrete is intended to strengthen LafargeHolcim’s existing operations in what it sees as one of the largest and most attractive ready-mix concrete and aggregates markets in the USA.

LafargeHolcim CEO Jan Jenisch said: “The acquisition of Tarrant Concrete follows our Strategy 2022 – ‘Building for Growth’ by capturing growth opportunities in our most attractive markets. By being highly complementary to our existing business, Tarrant Concrete will allow us to expand our ability to serve customers in a high growth area of Texas.”

Tarrant Concrete operates three ready-mix concrete plants supplying major construction projects. It has 90 employees and net sales of more than US$40m.
