Skanska picked for Portland airport expansion

Skanska is to expand Portland International Airport in Oregon under a US$151m contract.

It has signed a contract with the Port of Portland for the expansion and renovation project, which entails a 14,000m2 expansion of Concourse E. The two-storey building will be about 250m long and will add six new gates.

The scope also includes airside sitework, modifications to baggage handling systems and various renovations within the existing terminal.

The project is designed to increase the efficiency of airport operations, prolong the longevity of existing terminal facilities, increase the seismic resiliency of the concourse and enhance the level of service for passengers.
